Pattaya has developed a vast tourist industry, which has led, in turn, to a well-developed infrastructure to cater not only to tourists but also to those who service this industry. Apartment blocks and condominium units have risen all over the town, some specifically for the visitors and some for the locals. Those apartments or rental condominiums catering to the visitor are usually much more stylish, offering far more lavish amenities, décor and general conditioning. Many are situated on the beach areas such as Jomtien, or at least with scenic views and close to the many attractions. As such, they are more expensive. Apartments for the locals range from the very basic, small, and one room to multi bedroom units.
