See the world from a different perspective. Have you ever thought about jumping from a plane cruising at an altitude of 12,000 feet and free falling for 6,000 feet before opening the parachute? Most people only dream about it. Now, that dream can become reality.
There's only one place to go to in Thailand to experience this kind of thrill. At Siam Air Sport in Pattaya, one can learn basic lessons in sky diving after only a few sessions.
The idea was conceived by former parachutist and ex-special forces member Ron Loveridge. 'The most important thing in sky diving is safety. Many people tend to forget that and think only about the fun,' he says.
Loveridge has been parachuting for several years and has over 6,500 jumps to his credit. He started the Hereford & Gloucester parachute club in the UK in 1963, the only club of its kind with a 100 percent safety record up to today.
The training includes step-by-step demonstration on a wide screen TV. All instructors are professionals who will guide all students up to the actual dive. Feel then wind blowing against your face and see the world from a different perspective.
Experienced divers can take part in the open accelerated free fall and water jump courses. Rates are reasonable; a tandem jump from 10,000 feet costs 8,250 Baht and a water jump 6,000 Baht. Prices are negotiable for other courses.
