Thailand, and in particular, Pattaya, are famous for its beer bars, of which there are literally hundreds. The beer bar is set aside from other types of bar by being open air, with the patrons and staff sitting at the counter bar and on bar stools able to be viewed by passers by. Although individual beer bars can be found throughout Pattaya, it is usual to find areas solely for them, sitting side by side housed under a large common roof. Some of these areas house as many as forty beer bars, all with different owners and names. Stereo systems compete and the area is filled with loud music, laughter and a party atmosphere. Delightful and friendly ladies work behind the counter serving drinks, ready and willing to party and happy to chat with patrons and discuss the possibilities of having a good time whether for the evening or for the duration of the patrons visit. Entertainment, pleasure and a fun filled party atmosphere is the order of the day.
